How can I develop the working office environment with the productivity of the employees and space with the personal narratives of experience through the connections of office quality and Auckland city development.

This visual brainstorm which could be a just collage works but it contains deeper meaning and relationship with my practice. One of the main aims for my practice is to refine and connect the office site and the city through the surface and touch. This process caused me to bring back the starting point of refining the meanings 5 worlds.

Expand this site into something with potential beyond the office environment.

The question of “how do people seep into one another through space?” caused me to think deeper of pushing this space further to be connected with the city environment. Through my previous field works with different methods and methodologies I was able to explore different personal experience and traces.

The limit social interaction of the space performed as a trigger of defining the space by hierarchy of movement and experience of various tasks begin performed. Furthermore, the hierarchy of space creates the different zones with different aspects such as focus zone, collaborate zone, meeting zone, staff zone and open plan.

To connect the environments of city and office, “Bringing the outdoors, indoors” is really clear way to express this aspect. Before refine the productivity of the space I believe it will be very important to refine the surface connection of city and office environment. Biophilia which means the love of life and living system. Focusing on human natural attraction to nature and natural processes, which explores the biological benefits. The growth of urbanization and city has led to the disconnection of humans and nature as well as bringing the biological desire to connect with the outside world. But Auckland is the city with the huge potential to create biological interaction and happiness to the office environment through the biophilic design. Biophilic design explores the biological satisfaction and utilizing an innovative achieve to interior design through the combining natural world of the outside with where we work or live.

This is a conceptual plan drawing which exploring the biological benefits with the human natural attraction to nature and natural processes. As tree being the walls and boundaries which dividing the spaces as well as creating different zones. This process has brought huge connection with the actual natural environment of the site with the different sense of personal experience and the touch. Office acts as a city, mirrors the aesthetic of the natural environments in Auckland city. The natural boundaries create the different sense of touch in this environment. The touch being contacted with element and the touch which take a part of public or private space.

Touch down system will be the key aesthetic of evolution in my field. The touch down system applies in the open plan area it can be used in focus or collaboration zones, it is a working space which is open to everyone. This system is engaged with various different traces and experiences every day. When a person uses a touch down work desk it becomes a private space in a public space but when that space becomes unutilized for another user, then that space becomes a blank space. So it is public space but as well as it is private space with no traces. The trace and experience follows and moves with the humans.

As I am the one who is having direct experience and traces in this area I should me the one who knows and understand how the space should or could work. The main aesthetic which want to explore is the zones of the space. Currently this space contains focus zone, collaborate zone, meeting zone, staff zone and open plan but since this space gets very over populates with huge amount of unutilized spaces, all the zones started to be losing their function and themes which gives huge impacts on the productivity to the employees. Each zones are designed to suit the actions and movement of the humans to create effective traces but when people starts to bring different zones to another it loses the functions of the space. The case study of NADRA “Impact of office design over the employees’ productivity” refines the several factors that shows an impact on employees’ productivity. “sense of satisfaction and joy are generally more productive. This case thus, hypothesizes that layout of an office plays key role in the productivity of employees specifically.” From this reading I was able to catch that interaction qualities are encouraged employees to tend to learn from each other in both the formal and informal ways. Therefore, it is worthwhile for employee to base in suitable atmosphere in order to boost the productivity. Brining outdoors, indoors, with aesthetic of different zones is the strategy to bring positive impacts on productivity. Creating more touch down zones to make the history and traces to follow the human and allow multi users to create their own space with different traces whenever they need.

The limited traces and experience of human connects with the city as well. Humans are experiencing same traces and movements whether they are in limited space or not. we are sharing our experiences to learn and develop each other. Demolishing the boundaries of indoor and outdoor with the biological benefits and natural attraction will bring effective sense of touch to all of the different zones in this office.
